Intro

Virtual: Entry ticket using Bookwidgets.  In-person: Musical hoops

Students will move around in various locomotor movement as the teacher calls out during 30 sec silence. When the music comes on, students will jump in a hoop and perform the dance move they find on the task card in the hoop for 30 seconds.

Resources

  • Bookwidgets app 

  • Devices with internet connection 

  • Acess to speakers and music

  • Projector for video (if in person)

Body 
 

Point and Perform

Teacher explains the project and students form groups. If teaching virtually use breakout rooms over Zoom. Each group will receive an Ipad and will put together a sequence for the music of their choice. Criteria:​

  • At least 4 different moves and must be at least 6*8 counts

  • Could include different formations (optional)

  • Has to start with a pose and end with a pose

(Make sequence of songs – 50 sec each)

  • Groups will learn their place from teacher while they are practicing

  • When the first group performs, they will point to the next group then their song will start, and so on until all groups performed

  • When groups not performing, they need to stay in the pose

  • Groups will form a circle for the performance

If time allows review transitions with the song Total Eclipse of the Heart as a whole group.

Assessment
 

Peer assessment with teacher feedback. This could happen via Padlet for distance learning or via pen and paper for in-person learning.
