Assessment Plan Rationale

Proficiency scale-based assessment

  • Focus on students better understanding themselves as learners

  • Less focus on “marks” and more focus on progress and growth

  • Ongoing conversation between teacher and student on where the learning is going (formative assessments)

  • The activity, Point and Perform, is the final assessment (summative assessment) based on the criteria the students were given with a rubric at the beginning of the unit.
